Andy Dalton, the Saints’ quarterback, will start for them against the Rams

Andy Dalton : In spite of the team’s recent troubles, head coach Dennis Allen is sticking with business as usual in New Orleans.

On Wednesday, Allen confirmed that Andy Dalton would continue to start as quarterback for the Saints in Week 11.

Former starter and current backup Jameis Winston (back) is unlikely to be 100 percent healthy until 2022, according to Allen, who added that Winston may still practice and serve as Dalton’s understudy until then.

Dalton hasn’t fared well as the primary quarterback this year, winning just two of the seven games he’s started. Even worse, he has thrown three interceptions in New Orleans’ previous two games, while only scoring twice.

As a result, the Saints have scored a total 23 points in their past two defeats, after tallying 26, 34, and 24 in their previous three victories.

Given that Allen will continue to use Dalton as his starting quarterback, Saints fans can expect nothing better. Unfortunately for them, they’ve also lost defensive stars Michael Thomas and Mark Ingram to injury in recent games. The Saints are in a terrible place and are doing their best to battle through it with Dalton as their leader, but there doesn’t seem to be much reason to assume things will suddenly change.
